An exciting new Bronze Age hoard discovered in west Wiltshire has just gone on display at Salisbury Museum. It was found a month ago in a field near Tisbury by a metal detectorist. This Scout Motor Car was manufactured at the Scout Works, Lower Road, Bemerton, Salisbury in 1912. It is only one of two Scout Cars extant. It is not only the oldest but because of the detailed care taken during restoration it is also a truly representative example of a Scout Motor Car produced at the time. This exhibition will show well-known pictures in context for the first time, as well as giving the public the opportunity to see outstanding lesser-known works.
