Jennifer Carter, who works in the finance department at Salisbury Museum, suggested the offer. Her son, Martin, was posted to Afghanistan for six months, only two months after getting married to fiancé Sofia last August.

She says:-
“I read that in America it’s common for big attractions to honor their forces by offering discounts. I wanted to do something to help families who are missing a loved one and this seemed like some small way to make a difference”.

As a result, the discount has been given the seal of approval by Adrian Green, Director. To obtain the discount, please present forces ID card, proof of address (if local) or a certificate of eligibility obtainable from http://www.forcesdiscounts-mod.co.uk
The museum offers workshops for children on every 2nd Saturday of each month, and during school holidays.
