By Charles Marshall and G.H. Every 1801 - 1850 This is a dark and brroding image. It is early evening and the farmhand and his child are heading home (bottom right corner). Stonehenge, lit by the full moon dominates the picture, as if it is emerging through time. The artist has created a great sense of depth and theatrical aspect to the scene.
