Stonehenge
By Unknown 1751 - 1800 This image shows a number of recognisable features from Stonehenge but it also gets many things wrong. It was probably copied from another drawing rather than done from life or the artists own sketches. As well as the shapes and positions of some of the stones being wrong, the plants in the foreground do not look typical for the chalk downland of Salisbury Plain.
