Stonehenge
By Horace Brodzky 1910 - 1920 The broad lines and large areas of black ink give a solid feel to Stonehenge. The artist has used very simple cuts into the lino to create the shapes. The stones are pushing up to the billowing clouds and appear to be deeply rooted in the earth. The clouds, in contrast, float just out of reach, like a soft awning over the monument.
