Stonehenge Archer

Late Neolithic, 2400–2200 BC

This burial was found during the excavation of the ditch surrounding Stonehenge in 1978. The remains were of a male, aged between 25 and 30. Unusually, he was found to have several wounds, which appear to have been inflicted by arrows. Three arrowheads were found with the burial, one or more of which resulted in the man’s death.
