Brodzky was born in Kew, Melbourne, Australia. In 1908 he moved to London where he lived for most of his life. He was among the progressive artists of the age and socialised with other artists and intellectuals. Brodzky was a multi-talented artist whose work ranged from paintings and prints to book illustrations and posters as well as writing as an art critic. His work has a feel of spontaneity, fluidity and simplicity.
