W. Hamper

Hamper was an antiquarian who was trained in his father?s trade as a brass founder, which gave him the opportunity to travel extensively. He contributed poems to the Gentleman?s Magazine from 1798 and contributed views and descriptions of churches and buildings of antiquity between 1804 and 1812. He also wrote songs and was later appointed as a writer for the Society of Antiquaries.
