Discover the Treasures of Salisbury Museum

To help our visitors find their way around the King’s House – the home of the Museum – we are introducing guided tours that cover the ‘must see’ exhibits. The tours will be every Wednesday at 2pm from June to September. Our expert gallery stewards will lead these overviews of the collection, bringing to life some of our best known objects and the stories associated with them. Highlights include our infamous medieval rat found in the skull of a burial in the Cathedral and the Amesbury Archer – the 4,400 year old Bronze Age burial found near Boscombe Down. The tours will be an hour long, and each promises to be slightly different, as the content will be left to the tour leader to decide. No booking is required.

The tours are free after the payment of the entry fee – this is currently £5 for adults and £3.50 for concessions. If you can gift aid the entry fee then the ticket it valid for one year – which represents exceptionally good value for money.
