The landscape of the Wessex Chalklands with its prehistoric monuments is a frequent theme in Modernist British painting, notably through the work of Paul Nash, Eric Ravilious and John Piper. All three have influenced contemporary painter Anna Dillon, who will talk about the inspiration she gets from the landscape and the techniques she adopts. Anna’s father Patrick is a cultural ecologist, who will offer a perspective on the connections between art and landscape history.
