We are thrilled to announce the launch of Paul Kidby’s latest book ‘Terry Pratchett’s Discworld Imaginarium’, will take place at Salisbury Museum! Paul has collected the very best of his Discworld illustrations in this definitive volume, including 40 pieces of never-before-seen art, 30 pieces that have only appeared in foreign editions, limited editions and Book Club editions, and 17 book cover illustrations since 2004 that are reproduced without cover text. Sir Terry Pratchett himself once said that Kidby’s art is ‘the closest anyone’s got to how I see the characters’. If Terry Pratchett’s pen gave his characters life, Paul Kidby’s brush allowed them to live it, and nowhere is that better illustrated than in this magnificent book.
The 272-page full-colour volume will be available at this special signing event on 25 November and the retail price is £35.
There will also be available a limited Special Edition (2000 copies), which will feature a variant cover, a new piece of art produced exclusively for this version, metallic page edging, a marker ribbon and a specially-designed slipcase. The Special Edition will retail at £75.
Paul will also have a few copies under his desk of the very special Deluxe Limited Edition (1,250 copies) which is leather bound and features an alternative silver embossed cover design presented in a cloth covered clam-shell box. The book has a signature page with a new piece of artwork produced especially for this edition and an exclusive print is presented separately for framing.
All copies are numbered, and signed by Paul Kidby
*This event will be held in our Lecture Hall and entry to the book launch is FREE. Should you wish to visit the museum, the ‘Terry Pratchett: HisWorld’ and ‘Paul Kidby: The Charmed Realm’ exhibitions, normal admission charges apply.
