A half day workshop by Ann Catherine Row and Tim Nicholson, where you will create a repeat pattern on a length of fabric reminiscent of the technique employed by painter and fabric designer E.Q. Nicholson (mother of Tim Nicholson). Some of E.Q.’s fabric-prints may be seen in the museum's exhibition Circles and Tangents: Art in the Shadow of Cranborne Chase. One of E.Q.’s first designs was Black Goose (1938) printed in a variety of ways. Some of her prints were later reproduced by Courtauld and Cole & Son. No previous experience needed by student. All materials are provided, including inks, though participants are encouraged to bring paint brushes, rollers and cutting tools, if they have them, also pencils and paper. Wear old clothes.
