‘My dear Fisher, I should fear that my vision of happiness in making you a visit at Salisbury will be but a vision - I am so hard run in every way I know not which canvas to go to first’.
As the ‘Constable in Context’ exhibition draws to a close, join us for a performance of ‘The Fisher Letters’, taken from John Constable’s correspondence with his close friend and patron, Archdeacon John Fisher who lived at Leaden Hall. Starring Mark Honan as Constable and Fraser Wilson as Fisher, this is a lively, rehearsed reading, which will be followed by tea and biscuits and the opportunity to visit the 'Constable in Context' exhibition before it closes on 25 March.
Aspire is a partnership programme touring Salisbury Cathedral from the Meadows, exhibited 1831 across the UK. Aspire is supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund and Art Fund.
