There is so much more to the Museum than our exhibitions and displays. Watch this video to learn about what we have. We also have a café, gift shop, lecture hall and meetings room. Many of our facilities are also available for hire.
King’s House Café
The King’s House Café offers a highly personalised service, with home cooking ranging from morning bites to a light lunch. There is a daily specials board and plenty of homemade cakes for those afternoon teas. To complement this, there is freshly ground coffee, tea and other refreshments. There is also a children’s option.
A range of quality gifts, greetings cards, jewellery, ceramics and books are available at our own shop. Our range of adult & children’s books includes archaeology, local Salisbury history, pre-history and medieval times. We also stock a range of books on Romans, Egyptians, etc. which are particularly suitable for primary school teachers.
Many of the items are unique to the shop, including our Medieval Catalogue, featuring many of our exhibits and finds.
Toilets/Baby Care Facilities
Toilets are situated near the coffee shop. The disabled toilet also provides modest baby care facilities.
The lecture hall is regularly used for the Museum’s own lectures and is available for private hire by local groups and businesses. Seating up to 120, we can offer hire of data projector, flip charts, slide projector and refreshments (tea, coffee and biscuits) for an additional charge.
This is also a perfect venue for children's parties, offering plenty of space for activities with an outdoor area of grass right outside.
Meetings & Education Room
The Meetings Room is available for private hire and is suitable for smaller events. For regular meetings, either during the day or evening, it offers a private and exclusive location to meet.
This room is also available to visiting school groups.
