Venue Hire

The King’s House is a unique and atmospheric medieval building opposite Salisbury Cathedral.

Hall

Our brand new multi function space is fully accessible and can accommodate up to 90 people for a lecture, sit down dinner, drinks reception or celebration event. With projector and screen, AV equipment, and microphones available, we have everything you need for your event.

Exhibition Galleries

On the first floor of the King’s House there are two galleries that can be hired for activities and events with a historic twist. Both galleries contain fine displays of ceramics and glass, and directly face the incredible west front of Salisbury Cathedral. These rooms are also two of the most historically important in the building, with features dating back to the early 17th century.

On the ground floor there are our temporary exhibition galleries. These galleries are ideal for an exclusive location to host your corporate event, launch or Christmas party and can accommodate up to 100 people. Combined with the coffee shop area as a catering space, this makes a wonderful venue for any evening event.

The Museum Café

The museum’s café is located in an old panelled room, in a part of the building that dates back to 15th century. The toilets and kitchens are adjacent to the room.

Ground Floor Engagement Space

This new space is available for smaller group or corporate meeting bookings of up to 25 as well as a perfect venue for children’s parties, offering plenty of space for activities and a light lunch to be served. Combine it with a trip to our new galleries and it makes the perfect away day or party experience for all ages!

The King’s Room

The King’s Room can be hired for private functions. The building was built in the 15th century and is so called because James I stayed in 1610 and 1613. The unique and atmospheric historic rooms that were built to entertain royalty are now available for hire for drinks receptions, dinners, weddings and other civil ceremonies all year round. The King’s Room can seat up to 50 people at tables or accommodate 80 people standing. We also have a large back lawn that can accommodate a marquee and can be used for parties and receptions for up to 120 people. All areas can be hired from 8.30am to 10pm.

Rear Garden

The garden is an ideal location for small parties for those who are looking for an historic building as a backdrop to their event. It offers a perfect venue for photography of wedding groups in the shadow of Salisbury Cathedral.
