Museum Seeks Dynamic New Staff
Salisbury Museum is seeking new members of staff to move forward with our development plans. Earlier this year the museum was successful with a second round bid to the Heritage Lottery Fund and was awarded a grant of £1,794,600 to develop our new Archaeology of Wessex gallery. The museum has also nearly raised an additional £600,000 to reach the total of £2.4 million needed to start the project.
In October the museum reappointed Metaphor, the master planners, architects and exhibition designers to complete the designs for the new gallery. The museum also appointed Jane Ellis-Schön to the role of project curator and Ellie Collier to the role of project manager – both members of staff took up their new roles in November.
The museum now needs to recruit a further three staff to help complete the new gallery and the associated activities programme – these are:
- A Documentation Officer who will be responsible for cataloguing the gallery collections and assisting with the development of online gallery resources.
- A Learning Officer who will be responsible for implementing a programme of educational activities to enhance visitor enjoyment, understanding and widen participation in the museum's services.
- A Volunteer Co-ordinator who will be responsible for recruiting and training volunteers from a wide range of backgrounds to help deliver activities and events.
