Old Sarum: Reconstructing a lost Wiltshire Masterpiece

The Cathedral at Old Sarum ceased to be a place of worship almost 800 years ago and the building today is simply a series of marks in the ground. But hundreds of fragments in the museum store and in English Heritage’s stone store suggest that by the mid 12th century the cathedral was a magnificent tribute to its powerful patron Bishop Roger of Salisbury.
