Sunday 23 August, garden opens 5.00 pm, performance starts 7.00 pm.

This summer we are transforming the back garden of the Museum into an outdoor theatre to host a production of A Midsummer Night's Dream.

The play, for one night only, will be staged by lllyria, who have toured successfully for 17 years, won 4 international awards and gained an unmatched reputation for excellence on the UK open-air touring theatre circuit.

Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night’s Dream - the effortlessly magical and gloriously silly comedy. One young couple are hopelessly in love, another are in denial, a royal couple eagerly anticipating their wedding can't wait to get their hands on each other - and the fairy King and Queen hate each other's guts. Deep in the forest Puck makes a careless mistake and from this minor mishap absolute uproar ensues. Amidst the mayhem a group of well-meaning but frankly talentless workmen try to rehearse a play. (Suitable for ages 10+)

Garden opens at 5.00 pm, performance at 7.00 pm. Picnics can be eaten on the lawn. Please bring own blankets and seating if required.
