A lecture by Hugh and Mirabel Cecil. 6pm: Drinks and Private View. 7pm: Lecture. Hugh and Mirabel Cecil are both celebrated authors and their new biography, In search of Rex Whistler, has just been published with glowing reviews. Their talk will concentrate on Rex’s relationship with Wessex, its countryside, its great houses, (Cranborne and Wilton, for example), its friendships - Cecil Beaton, Edith Olivier, Stephen Tennant and Siegfried Sassoon, as well as Salisbury, the Close and the Cathedral itself. You will enjoy a ‘taster’ private view of our exhibition Rex Whistler - A Talent Cut Short with wine and canapés before the talk at 7pm.
